Dear NPRRA Members,
It is with great enthusiasm that I am writing this letter. The 50th Anniversary Conference in September was one of the best that I have attended. The keynote speaker set the lighthearted tone for the weekend (Meow) and the content after that kickoff was outstanding. The buzz around the quality of the conference was only eclipsed by the feedback we received in our post-conference survey. After the conference, the Board that you elected got right to work. We held meetings with each of the committee chairs and discussed the accomplishments of the prior year and the items we would like to endeavor to accomplish in 2025. Those productive sessions set the stage for our strategic planning meeting on November 8th and 9th in San Antonio, Texas, which is the site of our 2026 conference.
The strategic planning meeting included our excellent board of directors, but we were also joined by four past Presidents, Joe Winrich, Jennifer Swantek, Kevin Roberts, and Jeff Speredelozzi. Their input helped us understand past practices and rounded out our decisions as we wanted to build on prior successful endeavors. It truly was great having them participate in the meeting and their counsel was invaluable. Our future as an association is brighter because of their involvement and we thank them for donating their time to attend.
At the meeting, the Board laid out an ambitious plan for 2025 that will include, improvements to our training institute, improvements to the searching for members on our website, working to uncover and share more legislative and regulatory information with members and doing so in a way that allows us to responsibly manage our budget. We are also going to explore the possibility of creating membership opportunities for different associate members like government members or more international companies that are transacting in the US. The expanded reach will augment our core purpose of supporting the corporate and registered agent and UCC and lien searching and filing services and add value to our membership.
I would also be remiss if I did not single out every board member for their valuable contribution to making the weekend productive. Margaret Collins our Vice President was hard at work with Mechelle Pagan on planning our 2025 and 2026 conferences. They donated extra days to do the legwork in San Antonio before the meeting to reduce the expense of two travel events. The work they did allowed them to survey the options available for us in San Antonio and the 2026 events will be unique and fun because of their efforts. Rhonda Vaughn, our Treasurer, is an incredible steward of our money and budget and her timely management of our funds allowed us to be on the right side of the interest rate fluctuations. Heather Dye, our Secretary, along with Jennifer Goetz, our Membership Committee chair, are focused on making sure that we are adding value by properly communicating with our current and prospective members. They do this quietly and selflessly and are amazing people and board colleagues. Frank Orlando is simply an incredibly talented person, and we are lucky to have him working on our Technology Committee and supporting our Professional Development Committee with his technical expertise. He makes the complicated simple and does so with a can-do attitude every time. Alan Stachura is an amazing industry talent and a treasured resource. Alan has given so much wisdom to NPRRA over the years and has selflessly volunteered to help in any way possible. Our Government Affairs Committee is ready for a fabulous post-CTA (maybe) 2025 with him at the helm. 😊 Finally, Cheryl Westby is rock steady in her pursuit of improving our educational content. I am confident that with her and Frank on the case we will expand on our world-class training options and provide even more value for our members.
Finally, I am truly humbled to work with such talented people who volunteer to steward our association on behalf of you! I have to thank them for their amazing contribution to making NPRRA the best it can be and know that we are ready for our 51st year of excellence!
Regards,
Eric
